I was listening to your Ties that Bind season all of yesterday, a fun and enraging time. I had truly not reckoned with the way spooooky Consequences are touted in Odyssey for going against ‘design’/traditions without any explicit causational relation. The most egregious was the dying aids patient - they can’t address what the actual situation is- simply a consequence of some vague action.
Yeah it’s hard to even compute how horrific their treatment of AIDs is . . . All so Mr. Whitaker can feel like the “compassionate” conservative hero who never went back on his principles.
It’s like he timetravelled back from 2015 to 1990s and got to replace the lesbians that took care of aids patients while the religious right condemned us queers to die
